Peachtree Corners, GA – (September 15, 2022) – Mizuno, a global leader in sports apparel and equipment, adds Annie Drews to their talent-packed roster. As a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team since 2017, Annie Drews has both expertise and skill in her career as an opposite. In light of Mizuno’s recent partnering with USA Volleyball lasting through 2028, along with their proficient history and wisdom in creating performance gear for all volleyball players, Annie’s leadership and experience on and off the court are certain to provide an impact on the Mizuno Family.
Trusting your gear and being able to focus on the game at hand is precisely what Annie appreciates about Mizuno as she shared, “Wearing Mizuno, I feel like I don’t have anything to worry about. The gear is comfy and easy to break in. Shoes are supportive but lightweight. It’s one less thing I need to focus on, and I appreciate that.”
Annie has been dedicated to volleyball for an extensive period and has made a name for herself in the sport through every accomplishment. Annie grew up playing club volleyball and won two state titles in high school. She kept her victorious momentum going as she played NCAA Division I volleyball for Purdue University and began representing the U.S. on the Collegiate National Team.
Clint Sammons, Director of teams sports for Mizuno USA, shared his excitement for Annie’s decision to join Mizuno, “Annie Drews is a very talented player on the court, and Mizuno is excited to bring a player of her caliber and experience into the Mizuno family. Her leadership and team attitude are what drew us to her, and we are excited to partner with her on and off the court to give fans of Annie and Mizuno the opportunity to see what we are all about.”
Annie made her U.S. Women’s National Team debut at the 2017 Pan American Cup, where she helped to take home the gold. Annie has also played professionally in Puerto Rico, Italy, Turkey, and Japan. She was named 2019 USAV Female Indoor Player of the year and has continued to collect more hardware as she helped win gold at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Mizuno continues to serve as a platform for all to enjoy sports; Annie touched on the passion she has to see advancement and opportunity in women’s volleyball, “This partnership makes me excited that Women’s Volleyball is growing and getting to a point where brands like Mizuno can make these kinds of partnerships possible with athletes. This kind of thing felt unattainable until recently, and Mizuno makes me feel valued in our sport.”
Be sure to cheer on Annie as she heads to Worlds with the rest of the U.S. Women’s National Team, where she will be repping not only team USA but also the Mizuno brand!
