Christo Landry led the Mizuno Racing Team on Sunday at the USA 15-K Championships by finishing fourth in 43:59. The US Champs were held as part of the 37th annual Gate River Run in Jacksonville, Florida.
Landry, a 27-year-old William & Mary graduate who now lives and trains in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has had great success at Gate River. In 2013, Landry finished fifth in his 15-K PR of 43:46 and the year before that, he placed second in 44:37.
Craig Curley of Tucson, Arizona was the second Mizuno finisher at Gate River on Sunday as he placed 13th in a time of 45:23, just ahead of Mizuno teammate Craig Leon of Eugene, Oregon in 15th in a PR of 45:29. Both Leon and Curley were using Gate River as a final tuneup before the Boston Marathon on April 21st. Another Mizuno runner–Elliott Krause of Madison, Wisconsin–finished 18th in 45:52. David Fuentes of Team Mizuno–Texas placed 25th in 46:20.
The only Mizuno Race Team woman in the race was Renee Metivier Baillie of Bend, Oregon. Metivier Baillie continued her comeback from injury by placing 30th in 54:56.
