Mizuno is excited to add Braves top prospect, third baseman Austin Riley to their premium list of athletes. Riley, ranked as the 22nd overall prospect by Baseball America, joins a strong family of MLB ambassadors which includes 2018 World Champion pitcher Chris Sale, 2-time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber, and Gold Glove winners Andrelton Simmons, Nick Ahmed, and Kyle Seager.
“We believe Austin is a budding star and has the potential to be a major impact player in the big leagues for many years to come,” said Clint Sammons, Team Sports Marketing Manager at Mizuno USA. “Even more importantly, Austin carries himself the right way and displays great character, embodying the athlete with whom Mizuno desires to connect. We are thrilled to begin this relationship with Austin and look forward to his impact on the Mizuno baseball brand, as well as celebrating the accomplishments he will have on the field.” Riley will wear Mizuno gear from head-to-toe, including a custom Mizuno Pro glove, Dominant IC footwear, and performance training apparel. As part of the partnership, Mizuno will work with Riley to capture insight and advice to continue to enhance Mizuno baseball products in the future.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be an ambassador for Mizuno,” said Riley. “When you think about the history of players that have come before me, it’s an honor just to be a part of the Mizuno family.”
Selected by the Atlanta Braves as the 41st overall pick in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, Riley has experienced a steady climb through the minor leagues and has shown himself to be a significant all-around threat, playing great defense and clubbing at least 19 homeruns each of the last three seasons.
