#Mizuno20Day: Keeping the Momentum Alive

Published: January 09, 2017

It is the second week of the #Mizuno20Day Challenge, where you’ve started tackling your 2017 goals and sharing your progress on social media. Self-improvement doesn’t end after 20 days, and we hope you continue to pursue a better version of yourself after the challenge, into the rest of 2017 and beyond.

Not sure you can keep it going? Staying focused on your goals can be the hardest part, so below are some tips to keep the momentum strong throughout the new year. Keep sharing your progress using #Mizuno20Day to keep a record of your improvement and encourage others to join!

1. Set realistic goals.

It’s important to have goals, but the key to achieving them isn’t to make them unattainable – it’s exactly the opposite. Strive for your best, but set goals you know you can achieve. The small successes – moving from one stepping stone to the next – will keep you motivated more than setting one unrealistic goal and struggling to achieve it.

2. Stay focused on the end result.

Where do you see yourself at the end of 20 days? How about the end of 2017? Whatever you hope to achieve – whether it’s finishing your first 5K, earning a promotion at work or finally planting that garden in the backyard – keep thinking about how it’ll feel when you make it happen. There’s hardly a better feeling than accomplishing a long-term goal you’ve worked for.

3. Establish a routine.

This is a crucial element of any successful self-improvement plan – making sure you repeatedly and consistently perform the actions necessary to achieve your goals. Busy lifestyles can make it difficult to stay engaged in self-improvement. If that’s the case, try making time to work toward your goal every other day, or once a week, or whatever works best for you. Don’t give up simply because of limited time.

4. Find someone to hold you accountable.

Sometimes a friend is the best motivator. Having someone who pushes you toward your goals – and maybe even pursues them with you – can be the difference between losing interest and making it happen.

5. Share your progress and encourage others.

Good things are meant to be shared, right? As you move closer to your goals, let everyone know about it! That’s the idea behind the #Mizuno20Day Challenge. We want to create a network of people who are pursuing their best in 2017 and inspiring others along the way. Go out there, make it happen and show everyone what it looks like to pursue a better you.
