There’s no other event in the world quite like the AJC Peachtree Road Race . Held every year on July 4 in Atlanta, the race has grown exponentially since its humble beginnings in 1970, attracting more than 60,000 participants from all over the globe. As the Official Footwear and Apparel Sponsor of the Atlanta Track Club, Mizuno is proud to play a part in what is now the world’s largest 10K.
Last year, we introduced the first-ever shoe custom-made specifically for the AJC Peachtree Road Race, and this year, we’ve done it again. The brand-new Limited Edition Peachtree Wave Rider 20 features special design elements unique to the Atlanta locale and the race itself, including images of Georgia peaches and the Atlanta skyline. It’s Mizuno’s way of celebrating our hometown – and helping runners stand out from the crowd on race day and beyond.
Mizuno’s VP of Running Footwear and Design, Todd Lewis, noted that the shoe was designed to capture the distinct atmosphere of the race in a way that pays homage to its lore and spectacle.

In addition to its star-spangled design, the shoe features everything runners already love about the Wave Rider 20. With a new, softer wave plate technology, designed using convex (u-shaped) geometry, the shoe provides soft cushioning underfoot to deliver an exceptionally smooth ride.
