Atlanta Track Club Declares; Atlanta is Running City USA

Atlanta Track Club has declared Atlanta is Running City USA. In an unveiling at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo ahead of the 49th AJC Peachtree Road Race, the Club launched its new campaign and staked Atlanta’s claim as one of the country’s top running and walking destinations.

“We believe this is Running City USA,” said Atlanta Track Club Executive Director Rich Kenah. “Between the history of the AJC Peachtree Road Race, our 29,000 member-strong organization, the 125,000 people who finish Atlanta Track Club races each year, a thriving youth running community and the future of Atlanta’s pedestrian infrastructure, there’s no better place in this country to be a runner or walker.”

Mizuno is incredibly proud to be part of the movement and to be the partner not just of Atlanta Track Club, but for the entirety of Running City USA. We’ve seen Running City USA build over the years as running and walking have grown more and more popular in Atlanta. We see what Running City USA means when we see people running along the BeltLine, in parks, and on sidewalks. Most of all, we’re excited about the opportunity to continue building Running City USA by being a resource for all of its residents.

Atlanta Track Club’s unveiling included the debut of a new video and website, runningcityusa.org, which features interviews with a wide range of well-known Atlantans as well as dedicated runners and walkers from across the area. Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms, Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank, Entrepreneur and Atlanta Hawks owner Jesse Itzler, New York Times Bestselling Author Emily Giffin and Olympian Jeff Galloway are among the recognizable faces who share their perspective on Atlanta’s strengths as a running and walking city. You can watch the video here.

The Club is asking Atlantans to join the campaign by sharing why they believe Atlanta is #RunningCityUSA.
