Athletes Celebrate Their #MizunoMom

Today more than ever, Moms are our everyday HEROs.
This Mother’s Day will be different than previous ones. Mizuno is celebrating and honoring the Moms across the U.S. and Canada.  Our Mizuno Athletes reflect on some of their favorite memories with their mom and celebrating this special holiday.
Join some of these Mizuno Athletes and others this Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT for a special #MizunoMom Mother’s Day Instagram LIVE concert

BLAKE PIERONI, SWIM

How is your Mom an everyday HERO to you?

“My mom has always been there for me regardless of how I performed. She was always interested and cared about how I felt. It puts your mind at ease knowing that even if you swim horribly, there are still people out there that love you.”

SAMANTHA SHOW, FASTPITCH SOFTBALL

How is your Mom an everyday HERO to you?

“My mom is my hero because she’s always a positive, strong independent woman, and she loves her people. She is always there when I need her and wants nothing but the best for me.”

In one to two sentences, what is one piece of advice your mom gave you as you grew up that helped you be the person and the athlete you are today?

“She taught me how to fake a throw to first base when I was in 8u, and I still use it to this day! It’s believable and I’ve gotten runners out with it!”

DIDI GREGORIUS, PRO BASEBALL

How is your Mom an everyday HERO to you?

“My mom is a hero to me… because she raised me the right way, to be appreciative of everything in life and always put your best foot forward.”

In one to two sentences, what is one piece of advice your mom gave you as you grew up that helped you be the person, the athlete you are today?

“She told me to always be myself.”

JULIA COLE, MUSICIAN & FORMER COLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL PLAYER

How has your mom made an impact on you in your life and in sports?

“Both of my parents have been instrumental in teaching me so much about work ethic and can share full credit for getting me involved in athletics at a young age. My mom is completely self-made and has worked harder than anyone I know to achieve her own greatness. She’s selfless and such a role model for my two sisters and myself.”

Don’t forget about the Mother’s Day Instagram LIVE concert this Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m. ET with Julia Cole and Mizuno Athlete guest appearances. Check out the details and who’s scheduled to be a part of the concert here.
