Peachtree WAVEKNIT® R1 is the limited edition 2018 AJC Peachtree Road Race’s running shoe. It’s new, its KNIT, it’s legit.
It’s the first time in Mizuno history that we’ve launching a new technology in honor of an event. So, about the talk about the new tech – WAVEKNIT®! It is an evolution of the proprietary WAVE Technology® incorporated into a WAVE designed KNIT upper.
Take a minute, examine the shoes sleek and smooth upper and you’ll notice a beautiful vector pattern design. Magic exists inside the raised, thick sections of the design lines of WAVEKNIT®. It provides securing properties to your foot, helping you land in the intended areas of the shoe platform with every stride. The flat, closer to foot knit areas of the upper stretch and expansion to allow the foot to naturally swell without comprising comfort.
But wait, there’s more, the Limited Edition Peachtree WAVEKNIT® R1 will feel eerily familiar underfoot as we’ve designed the shoe on none other than our tried and true Wave Rider 21 midsole.

Stephen Pifer, Mizuno Shoe Guy
Stephen Pifer attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was an integral part of two National Cross Country Champion teams and became the schools first sub 4-minute miler. Stephen is a 14-year running industry veteran. He and his wife, Laura, have three sons.
